Well, since my firestone firehawk GT on the rear driver side is shot, I figured I may as well upgrade!
Going from 245/45/r20 to 275/40/r20’s. So they should be wider and grippier. Nitto T555 is the name of the tire, and they are designed to work in concert with the Nitto T555R drag radial, which will probably go on the rear next.
Oddly enough I ran into SRT4Ghouls dad while I was there! Apparently his mustang caught nails in not one, but 2 tires. He quite separately decided to get the same tires, and do the same thing (replacing both rear tires). Given that he’s been racing longer than I’ve been alive, I was quite happy to hear that.
